What Is It?

The Leaving Home and Housing Education Resource database is an on-line directory of resources covering:

• Leaving Home and Housing Education
• Preparation for Independent Living
• Tenancy Sustainment
• Practice and Techniques for Working with Young People
• Background Information, e.g. policy on research relating to young people, housing, homelessness, leaving home, and independent living

Who Is It For?

• Teachers
  - delivering leaving home or housing education in schools
  - working with pupils who may be thinking of leaving home or have left home
  
• Youth Workers
  - delivering leaving home or housing education
  - working with young people who may be thinking of leaving home or have left home
  - supporting young people in preparing for a tenancy
  - supporting young people in their tenancy
  
• Housing Support Workers
  - delivering leaving home or housing education
  - supporting young people in preparing for a tenancy
  - supporting young people in their tenancy
  
• Throughcare and Aftercare Workers
  - supporting young people in their move out of care, e.g. as part of Pathway Planning
